Humboldt County offers a unique experience for those who want to expand their knowledge with a state university and community college set among the giant redwoods.

Humboldt State University is the northernmost campus of the 23-school California State University system, located in Arcata, offering four-year degrees in 51 majors, along with 69 minors.

In fact, Humboldt State was recently ranked among the “Best Colleges in the West” by The Princeton Review citing excellent professor to student ratio.

College of the Redwoods is a public two-year community college with a campus of approximately 270 acres located in Eureka.

Devoted to its students, the College of the Redwoods offers over 1,000 different classes. These courses range from plant science, administration of justice, bookkeeping, computer science, woodworking, dental assisting, game art and animation, early childhood education, restaurant management, manufacturing technology and nursing. The College offers A.S, and A.A. degrees, as well as certificate options.

Most importantly, both colleges offer Adult Education for those seeking expand their horizons.
